Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need an appointment to attend a sale?
No. Most of our estate sales are open to the public during the advertised sale hours. If an appointment is necessary it will be specified in the advertisement.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Venmo, Zelle, and cash at all of our estate sales.
Can I purchase items before the sale begins?
We do not presell items from our sales. Items are sold on a first come first serve basis to ensure everyone has a fair chance to purchase.
How can I find upcoming estate sales?
Our sales are always listed on Estatesales.net, as well as on all of our social media platforms.
Can you completely clear the property after the sale?
Yes! The Tall Rob Team offers a post estate sale service that will empty the entire home. Leaving every drawer, closet, cabinet, garage, and backyard empty.
How much does it cost to hire you? Do you charge an upfront fee or commission?
We charge a flat all-inclusive percentage based on only what we sell. We ask for no money upfront; we are very confident in our ability to sell through any home at a high rate. We settle up with our clients two days after the sale closes. Your flat percentage fee includes set-up, marketing, security, as well as the sale itself.
Do you offer a free consultation for estate sale services?
Yes, we offer an upfront, no fee, no obligation consultation to determine the best strategy for the liquidation of your estate.
Do you offer appraisal and authentication services?
Yes, our firm can provide individual appraisals and authentication on rare and higher end items. We can offer a full estate appraisal as well.
What happens to items that don’t sell after an estate sale?
Although our sell-through rate for estate sales is typically in excess of 80%, we do our best to donate the items that remain to charitable organizations, either of your choice or ones that we work with regularly.
What happens to personal information such as tax returns, family photographs, and other important documents?
Anytime we discover important family documents, they are set aside in an “off limits” area that is not accessible to estate sale buyers. All items will be returned to the family and not sold.
How much notice do you need to conduct an estate sale in our home?
In most cases, we can get your estate on the calendar in three weeks after the initial consultation. That timeline will include the set-up and preparation for your estate sale.
Are there any hidden or backend fees associated with conducting an estate sale?
We only charge our flat percentage fee based on what is sold at the estate sale, which is all-inclusive. There are no additional backend fees whatsoever.
Do we receive any sort of receipt for any items donated after the estate sale?
Yes, we will provide you with donation receipts for all items donated to any charitable organization after the estate is cleared out.
